Did you know that a bite from a Lone Star Tick (mostly found in eastern USA) can cause a rare allergy to red meat in humans and in dogs?! This can lead to itching, redness, skin lesions and hair loss if your pet has been infected and their diet contains red meat products. 🀯🐢πŸ₯©

Keep your pet protected all season with a trusted tick prevention product and make sure when you're outdoors in long grasses and tick-prone areas, you keep covered and check yourself over when you get home!

Did you know that dogs have the same type of sleep as us? They have SWS (slow wave sleep) and REM (rapid eye movement) sleep just like us, andΒ dream likeΒ us too! When you look at your pup twitching or "running" in their sleep it's true that they are dreaming!Β πŸ˜πŸŒ™β­

Did you know dogs drink with the back of their tongue?!
Dogs curve their tongues backward in a ladle-shape to catch a little more liquid. When they rip their tongues out of the water, they cause a significant amount of acceleration; about 5 times that of gravity!

Did you know "brachycephalic" dogs like the bulldog and pug are more prone to dental disease?! This is because their teeth are the same size as a large dog, but put into a small, crowded mouth! There's not much room between all those teeth, so bacteria tends to get trapped causing a build-up of plaque and tartar.

A Body Condition Score (BCS) chart lays out specific guidelines to help pet owners and professionals have a hands-on assessment of fat and muscle mass. It is either scored 1-5 or 1-9 depending on what chart you use.
